How do I Report an absence?
A
Report all absences before or on the day of the absence by calling the school, 813-276-5620; press 1 to report the absence.
Your parent or guardian must call the day of the absence, or the absence will remain UNEXCUSED.

See the Attendance Clerk, Mr. Lawyer, in the Main Office, 114.

Who do I see about Sports?
A
Athletic packets are available in the Athletic Administrative Office, Room 112.  All completed packets will be turned in to the Coach of the sport in which you wish to participate.

Where is Student drop-off and pick-up ?
A
Student drop-off and pick-up is through the Wilder Parking Lot which can be accessed via E. Wilder Avenue, located immediately west of Central Avenue on the North end of campus.

What is the Tardy Policy at HHS?
A
If you are late to class without a pass, your teacher will mark your attendance record for the period, UNEXCUSED TARDY.

Can I leave campus during the day?
A
Once you arrive to school, whether you are a driver, dropped off, or ride a bus, you must remain on campus.
If you leave without official permission (i.e. field trip, sign-out, school business), you will be considered truant and will be subject to disciplinary action.

Can my parent bring me lunch?
A
Lunch deliveries such as McDonald’s or Burger King are not allowed.  Student affairs will not deliver lunch “drop-offs” to students.

What are the Sign in/out procedures?
A
No emergency card = no sign out.
Proper identification is necessary.  Person who is signing you out must be on your emergency card.
Only allowed 4 excused sign in/outs; excessive sign in/outs will be unexcused unless a parent/guardian is present or medical /legal documentation is provided.
Pre-approved sign-outs must be presented before 7:35 AM in student affairs. Upon verification, a form is given to show your teacher to officially sign-out in SAO .

When can students use Student Cell Phones?
A
On the bus if allowed by bus drivers
→Before and after school
→In between classes and during lunch

Speakers and/or boom boxes are not included in this privilege.  Keep the sounds on your devices to yourself!

When are students NOT TO USE their Cell Phone?
A
Once students cross the threshold of a teacher’s classroom or a school office such as the main office, IB office, student affairs, guidance, or athletic, phones are to be put away and silenced.

Teachers make the rules of use in their classroom; and, until the rules are made clear to students, students are to assume NO USE.
